When asked why they chose to participate in the project, here is what Tony Walton and Anastasia Barzee had to say:

“When I was asked to sing on the Broadway Lullaby Project I had no hesitation in saying yes. Unfortunately, I as so many, have lost a number of wonderful women in my life to this horrible disease. I also thankfully have seen a number of women in my life beat it! Being a performer insists a certain amount of selfishness and self-involvement. So it’s a wonderful day when you get to give of yourself for someone else. Thank you for asking me to lend my voice to this incredibly worthwhile cause. Also, with two very young boys of my own, Henry and Gene, I know this album will get loads of play during the bedtime ritual. “

“Having had my own dark adventure with cancer recently, this clearly invaluable project rang extra-specially strong bells with me. In addition – on hearing it - I was immediately enthralled with the beauty of Anastasia Barzee’s rendering of Henry Krieger and Bill Russell’s deeply affecting EVERY BREATH AND THOUGHT … which immediately brought to mind a remarkable, recent photograph by my remarkable wife, Gen. On hearing the song, she, happily, agreed to my ‘messing about’ with her striking image. So I was hooked.”
